MR.STUDIO is proud of our growing list of clients. The MR.STUDIO recording process is more than just setting up some microphones and pressing some buttons. At the outset of a new project, time is taken to really get to know the band or artist and gain an understanding for what exactly they want to do with the recording. Once a full understanding is achieved, the recording process is broken down into a unique approach that fits the individual project best.
Here are just a few stories of past projects at MR.STUDIO:
Sadaharu
Resist. Revolt. Reclaim.
Full Length CD
Approaching Sadaharu's third studio album, it was important to both the band and the studio to capture the raw energy of the band's live sound and their unique guitar tone, and still create a record that sounded polished. By breaking each song down part by part, we constructed a unique combination of guitar tones for different parts of songs, resulting in subtle but effective sonic dynamics within each one.
"As anyone who's ever seen them before will readily testify, Lancaster, Pennsylvania's Sadaharu are an amazing live band. Unfortunately, their studio recordings never quite captured the band's iconoclastic energy - untilnow, that is." -ALTERNATIVE PRESS
Slimfit
Make It Worse
Full Length CD
Lancaster, PA's Slimfit was looking for an affordable alternative to mixing their tracks in a high-priced studio, but wanted a high-end quality mix that really brought out the clarity and warm, earthy feeling of their particular brand of rootsy Americana-style music. Luckily for Slimfit, MR.STUDIO was able to take their previously-recorded tracks and deliver the high standard of quality they expected in a full length CD final mix, without completely draining their much-needed promotional funds.
Tyler Speaks For Me (R.I.P.)
Final Demos
Demo Recording
Tyler Speaks For Me had done many projects with MR.STUDIO over the years, and when it regrettably came time for the band call it quits, the guys came back for one final session. TSFM wanted to demo two songs that had been played live, but hadn't made it to a recording yet. We were able to capture the fun, contagious energy of the band in this last studio session. These guys gave it all they had, to really make their last songs a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Captain Of Compliments
Ides Of March
EP (for digital download)
This four-piece rock outfit (drummer, bassist, guitarist, and singer), which had really begun to make a name for themselves in the local and regional area, wanted a really bold-sounding EP with a lot of energy. And who knows how to capture that energy better than MR.STUDIO? Using our signature tracking techniques, we were able to give Captain Of Compliments that loud, "wall of guitar" rock 'n' roll sound, with punchy bass tones and sharp, powerful drum sounds. COC opted to use a good deal of MR.STUDIO's high quality, in-house gear and instruments, which only served the recording that much better.
Juvenescent Beat!
A Man Could Get Shot Around Here For Asking Questions Like That
CD EP
I met the guys in Juvenescent Beat as a result of recordings I had done with Sadaharu. Being a somewhat similar band genre-wise, they were looking to create a CD that would complement their old-school emo/post-hardcore sound with a lot of the driving, raw power that they liked in how Sadaharu's music was tracked. We were also able to explore some different guitar tones and drum sounds for the album by using some of the MR.STUDIO in-house gear. All in all, JB! came away more than satisfied, with a highly-charged agressive post-punk CD. This satisfaction led them back to MR.STUDIO to record their current album (being mastered now).
